Hair Growth Tips (A collection of tips that have helped me out on my hair journey) 1. Moisture is the most important, IMO. Without it the hair will break, split and never grow longer. The baggie method is a good way to retain moisture as well. (Baggie Method - You moisturize your hair's ends, put them in a bun and put a sandwich baggie over it. -I don't think everyone who does it put their hair in a bun before baggying it though.- The plastic around the hair traps the moisture inside with your hair so it does not evaporate as quickly as it would have if it were left out.) Examples of moisture: Water, Shea Butter, Elasta QP Mango Butter, etc. Oils are not moisturizers, and cannot moisturize hair. They are sealants. They can be used to seal in the moisture once it has been added to you hair. (To seal in moisture, you simply apply your moisturizer, then aplly a coat of oil over it. All done.) Applying moisture whenever you need it would also solve the problem of dryness. 2. Trimming. It is neccessary to trim damaged hair off. Or else, the hair will not grow correctly. All splits need to go and can never be permanently repaired. Trimming and cutting should be done with a pair of Hair Shears. Cutting with dull scissors will cause more splits and further damage the hair. (continued on page 2) |
